WHDLoad mass install

Hi, hope this is the right place to ask....

I have two Amigas now to play with a hopefully a little time. Initially games are the aim but maybe more later. Two CF-IDE adapters and 4Gb CF Cards. One A1200 and one A600 with 2Mb Chip and Kipper's 4Mb FastRAM card.

I want to install as many WHDLoad games as I can.. question is whether there is some clever way I can install a load without having to unarchive each. I don't recall ever using WHLoad before even though I bought a key over 10 years ago!!!

I guess what I want is some unLHA *.* type command and each to go in their own dir with own info files? I'll be setting up the CF-IDE in WinUAE and transferring to Amigas later.

Sorry to be so vague. It's been 20 years since my BBS went down and I haven't really used an Amiga much since or WinUAE.

Self promotion. Should be able to unrar them on windows and just transfer all or parts of it to the amiga disk through WinUAE. Thats how I do it.

The games should be un archived on the Amiga or under emulation to retain the correct file structure.
I use classic workbench and the unarc tool in directory opus one of the many great features of these awesome packs.

You can select as many files as you like and hit the button :-D

Unpack the archives in emulation with JIT enabled if you plan to extract 1000 games+ to your CF card. It works very fast then.

Add this line to your user-startup (or startup-sequence):
Code:
AddBuffers DH0: 1000
Not sure if 1000 is enough and of course you might have to replace DH0: with your drive name(s).

I normally set it to 2000. Only takes around around 1 to 2 hours then.
Alot better than 24+ Hours cause I didnt know about buffers until I came here, all them years ago, .

Thank you - going to grab this now! I'm keen on getting a Workbench pre-configured so all I have to do is add WHDLoad - but with copyright I doubt there'll be one of these lingering about? I've got original A600HD workbench if that's any good to get a A600 compatible WHDLoad package which I can transfer once my Amiga is returned!

You can install WHDLoad without any problems, but you might want to register at one point

I was referring to something like a HDF file to include a pre-configured (free version) of WHDLoad!
