EAB/Lemon Super League 2013: Round 8 Game Vote
EAB/Lemon Super League 2013: Round 8 Game Vote (Special Round - Games released in 1987)
Starts: 00:01 June 23 Finishes: 23:59 July 6 Rules Full rules are here. Vote for five games. Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt. This is the vote for the second special round of the season. When voting you can only choose games that were first released in 1987. The two games with the most votes will be played. If you are in doubt about a game's status, ask in the thread before you vote, or contact a Moderator. It will be sorted out before the end of voting. Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. Edited votes will be discounted (unless told otherwise) so think before you post. Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon. If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state your preference in your vote. In the event the versions differ gameplay-wise, the version with most votes will be played. ECS is the default if you don't specify. who won Round 7 and will have his vote doubled for Round 8 (i.e. 1st place = 10 pts, 2nd = 8 pts etc). It was quite difficult this time to find something I would like to play.
1. Ports of Call (Most properties after a certain ingame time, 1 or 2 years) 2. Emerald Mine (Highest Level, lowest score, saving allowed, but every try must be saved with "save players" when the game is quit) 3. Ninja Mission 4. Goldrunner 5. Garrison |

I have still something to discuss (better now than in one year): I propose that only the last 3 chosen years may not be selected for this competition round, starting to be effective next year. That way there is always some selection available and a year can be selected more often than others. The threshold should be 35-40% of all available choices, that is 3 (maybe 4) for years.
The same system can be applied to Letters. There is a bit more time to decide that, because there are about 18 selections possible (with multiple choices as the QUXYZ in one year), so the selections of the last 7 choices (chosen during the last 7 years) are not available. PS: Only 1987 should be banned permanently. (Forgive me this little joke ) Last edited by Harry; 23 June 2013 at 02:08. |

Does this have a scoring system? Doesn't look like it from the screenshots...
@Harry I think we will need to have a think about that. Obviously one of the problems is that eventually there will only be one or two years left and that won't be much of a 'prize' for the winner of the previous round to select the winner. At the same time I don't want to get into the position where certain years never get chosen because the more popular ones become available again. But it's more pressing for years rather than the letters round, as you say, because there are plenty more letters to choose from. |

1. Arkanoid -- I know we've had Babeanoid already, but this one is perfect for the league.
2. Test Drive -- Only because I missed out on round 1 3. Mission Elevator -- Very funny game.. couldn't see a hi score table but can capture the score during death sequence. 4. Ninja Mission 5. Gee Bee Air Rally |
