Apollo 1240 problems

Bought a apollo 1240 off ebay as untested when i plugged it in it doesnt recognise any ram, i have tried 10 different sticks 4mb to 16 mb but it shows none installed
Also system info shows it running at 25mhz instead of 40, I have checked the crystal and it's an 80mhz
I have cleaned all the contacts but no change
Has anyone got any suggestions
Thanks
Steve

the 3 chips at the top of the board. and if you do not know. do NOT solder it yourself but let someone with solderexperience handle it.

JUST to be sure.. you DO have a jumper at the "RAM" location?

The ram jumper is set correctly, the long Rom chip next to the ram looks like 1 of the pins has been broken and soldered back on, I think this is the chip you mentioned earlier

Hello the chip is NMC27C256BQ200 which as far as I can tell is an eprom that fits in a socket on the board which is as easy to change as changing motherboard rom chips but doesn't it need programming as it had a sticker on it saying 40/55

but if you do not know about these compoenents for your boards case: do not even try to fix it yourself or you might break it even more.. I have seen too many "this cannot be that hard to do" killing PCBs.

I would rather get someone who knows what they are doing to fix it, I can change things that are in sockets but I can't solder to save my life, I did ask amigakit but they don't repair old memory cards

I see from some of the other threads on this card that they can be upgraded to 1260 if they have the mach 131 chip which mine does would it be advisable to do this at the same time as having the other bits done ? Is it worth the extra cost ?

When would you be able to consider taking this job on ?
Next month ?
Would this include replacing the other chips ?

UPGRADE I can take anytime. and if it is ONLY change that 74f257 I can do it.. BUT if it involves any kind of troubleshooting. I will not have time until May!
