A quick search revealed the above, but it's not much help. I've never got it to work correctly myself without corruption, but then again I haven't really given it any time to speak of.

I use FBlit, so I could try fiddling with those settings. Someone there also had WBAllocFast running before FBlit so maybe that can help. Isn't this function in Workbench.library? You could try updating that, I seem to remember people doing that but I am a 1.3-3.1 dedicated user as of yet so it's not an option for me.

Thaks again.

Yes but not the 'View By >> Name / Date / Size' in the Window menu. Those lists still remain in ChipRAM. Unless you either get WBAllocFast to play nice or do some OS upgrade (workbench.library iirc). There may be other options out there, I'm just not sure.

Even with WBAllocFast working correctly, you'll still find it quicker to read directory lists in DOPUS or FileMaster.

Re:AmigaOS 3.9

When Haage and Partner was working on AmigaOS 3.5 and 3.9 they tried to fix bugs in Workbench. I think that might affect the way that FText and other utilities work (or don't work) with those versions of AmigaOS.
