IE6 Isn't the Only Obsolete Browser In Use

IE6 Isn't the Only Obsolete Browser In Use

Non-Windows blasts from the past were also represented: 438 used the ill-fated OS/2 operating system, and five ran Amiga OS.

So while Microsoft's campaign to eradicate Internet Explorer 6 is laudable, it seems clear that there's nothing anyone can to do stop people from running some seriously outdated software.

Who are the five people using Amiga OS to browse PC Mag?

Interesting. One of those five people might have been me. I think I followed a link there when I was on my A3000 or A500.

Hahahahahaha!!!

Yeah, indeed that was a terrible desktop - I remember a friends dad years and years ago had a laptop that ran Windows 3.x and I had a go on it and got immediately frustrated, smugly remarking to my friend that it didn't have a hope of ever matching Workbench... seems like Microsoft have arguably more than made up for it since, though...

Typical PCMag, rubbishing AmigaOS and Win98 without any real justification...

I'm more worried about these dumbasses!

Maybe strangest of all, some readers were using betas of old versions: over 500 readers used the beta of Firefox 3.0, and a dozen even used the beta of Firefox 1.5, which dates back to 2005

They caught me. Browsing in Windows 3.1 is not too slow without flash, java and of course in 640x480 with 256 colors.

In this day and age, Win98 should be slagged. If you connect to the internet with it, prepare for and prepare to deserve what you get.

I refuse to believe that's not people in VMWare sessions set up for gaming, though. Flat out refuse.

I have a dedicated Win98 laptop (486 DX2 50Mhz) for old games which is connected to the 'net. What are these consequences of which you speak, and when can I expect them?
