Always the same bug with RSI Megademo... and another strange thing...

Hi Toni,

I tried the last betas, and an old bug is reappearing... with the Red Sector Megademo (after the main screen, it stay on "loading", won't go to "decrunching").
It was discussed here and here and here ...

I had to go back to 2.3.1 (2011.02.26) to make it work fine...

Another strange thing (not related to the last betas only) with the demo "Vector Balls" by Thomas Labdspurg (or TomSoft).
The vector balls display is flickering... scrolltext and logo are fine...
I first noticed it a long time ago, and was fixed by a later released (can't remember wich ones though), and it seems back in the recent releases...

A500, OCS, 512KB Chip, 512KB Slow RAM (most common)

Thank you.

Answer is still the same: can't duplicate, always works fine.

Unbeleivable... the "bug" appears, then disappears, then reappears... without any reasons...

Do you still get it using latest beta?

I have never saw it so either it is random (highly unlikely) or you do something different when booting it.

I tried with beta 6
It's not random
I don't do anything different when booting it

If I swap WinUAE executables (from 2.3.1 to 2.3.2 beta 6, or the contrary) it appears or disappears... as simple as that !
As you may know, several other users encountered the same thing....

Beside this, have you had a look at the flickering display of the Thomas Landspurg demo "Vector Balls" ?

It does not matter. Also "several other users" says it works fine.
Nothing happens as long as I can't duplicate it.

Use most compatible setting.

Maybe self-fixed or I'm becoming crazy...
I tried several times this afternoon.. and it worked !
So it might be random (quite unlikely IMHO, but...)

Do you mean it always needed one or more resets before the problem happened? Does it still happen with older versions?

This is so confusing..

Yes, it becomes really confusing...

Look, it "finally" seems to work with 2.3.2 b6... don't know why it failed some days ago... anyway...
I went back to 2.3.1 .... it worked ok too !
I went back to 2.3.0 .... it didn't work !
I switched back to 2.3.2 b6.... it worked fine !

I will try several times with 2.3.2 b6, and I'll let you know if the "bug" is coming back...
Maybe the magic bullet, maybe the twillight zone... don't know what is happening here...
