Sorry, I forgot to send you a message this afternoon.
I added the italian catalog into the cs-file used by SimpleCat to store all language information together. I merged your translations with the existing ones. Unfortunetaly I can not automatically import another catalog file, but we have to continue the work based on that cs-file. I don't know, if other tools can handle that file as I am only familiar with SimpleCat by Guido Mersmann.


Would it be possible for you to continue the translation process directly with the PED.cs-file stored in Sourcecodes/AmiBlitz/PED?

Also a string seems missed, the "Key" string of the separator label of the shortcut window

The first two strings should be correct by tomorrow, there were typographic mistakes in the executable, no change needed just a new executable of PED.
For the third: it must read "cursor down select row", without an "s".

It only happends with 3.7.2.
I have 060 with 1.7 of free chip RAM and 52 fast ram when IDE is running.
I use 640x512 screen mode.
I have done an install in other directory with no succes.

Hi Tolkien,
I'm sorry, but i am not able to reproduce that problem via emulation.
I built a configuration similar to your provided system information, but there was no problem at all.



* I downloaded the 3.7.2-zip file and started it from there.
* Changed screenmode to highres and changed gui-fonts
* even with "more compatible cpu emulation" everything worked fine


Maybe you have some patches installed that leads to the crash?
Which kickstart-version do you use?

I use 3.1.4. Ill try a clean startup to see if a patch is doing something devil.

I tested it with a almost clean 3.1 and 3.1.4 installation. Looking forward to your results...

I also get a crash when entering the prefs in 3.7.2.
Doesn't matter if I copy files over existing 3.7.1 or copy to an empty folder.
"Error 8000.0006, suspend or reboot."

When pressing suspend:
- you can tick checkboxes
- the color picker isnt there
- dialogs (like screen) wont open
- buttons like "use&close" or "cancel" won't work

System: WinUAE, A1200, 68020, 2MB Chip, 32MB of Fast, kick 3.1, classicWB
Same system that runs fine with 3.7.1

Maybe a library needed that was not before?
Or changed tooltypes?

Please check the about-window: can you provide the version numbers for Amiblitz3 and PED?

Btw, suggest: for compatibility reason (AmigaOS3) it's better renaming the italian folder from "italian" to "italiano"

The crash occur once the window is opened.
Both, ab3 and Ped shows 3.7.2 (17-12-2019).
I have tried with no S-S and the same error.

In this release there is a tooltype called
screen_id=1342377984
Remove it and problem solved.

Thank you so much for that analysis!
Problem is as follows: if the IDE gets an unknown screenmode id, it tried to find a most matching available screenmode by using a function that is only available at systems with gfx-card!
The crash occurs if the cybergraphics.library is not present - which is the normal case on classic systems.


I will add a proper checking for that!

Ah, that would explain it alright. That was an issue with previous versions of AB3 too, I remember having to work around it when transferring an install between machines.

Yes, read several posts about immediately crashing of AmiBlitz3 at startup.
With this bug report these problems are gone.

I am very happy about that, as I would never have been able to find this for myself...

The screenmodes, tooltypes and prefs dialog was my major hurdle to get AB3 running some weeks ago. Now it's working fine =)

About screenmode tooltypes - here are some of them:

SCREEN_HEIGHT=512
SCREEN_DEPTH=4

SCREEN_ID=167936
SCREEN_WIDTH=640
SCREEN_HEIGHT=256

I also found a site which contains the screen mode IDs. For example 167972 is just the addition of PAL_MONITOR_ID + SUPERLACE_KEY which is 0x21000 +0x8024 = 0x29024 = dec167972.

I also learned that putting (brackets) around parameters to disable them is maybe better than ;commenting them out or deleting them because the program can edit or reactivate them better and they stay in the same line they were before (more neatly arranged parameters). However deleting them works too of course.

Good to know you find a way to solve the crash.

Now I have a problem in both, a1260 and morphos. Perhaps is a problemas of my dearchiver.
When I unpack ab3 none of the Ejecutable icon flags are activate.
I can run ab3 but I have to add that flag to AB3HelpViewer to can view documentación and to the debugger to can use it.
Dont know if my unzip does something strange (in both machines) or the remote packer is doing it badly.

Someone can verify it please?

No big issues to report for now, except the ordering of strings into the catalog that make to me to hard to verify the fairness of my translation, i will wait for the next release to test everything carefully :-)

Aniway under AmigaOS 4.1 i have noted atleast one DSI crash, it happened sometimes at the closure of the prefs window ... luckly i can ignore it and continue, but would be nice if you can resolve it ...

I can't download the archive. Clicking on the "free download"-button just leads to ... nothing.
