I've tentatively updated the list, adding entries, denoting what platforms the source platform of the games, linking to discussion. It's solely limited to specific games at the moment, and source code or actively discussed efforts have to be involved - the one exception is one of Kroah's games where he didn't provide source, but I expect he would if asked.

This guy has disassembled OutRun (Arcade) and created an open source reimplementation. A track editor is also available.

Oh, I thought you would put these on GitHub but indeed the legal status of these might be a bit murky. This said, I understand that Wayne Holder is quite tolerant of these kind of efforts so maybe you could try reaching him or Doug Bell to see if they would be fine with it?

They certainly seem to be aware of the C rewrite and to have nothing but praise for it so I would think this should be ok.

Disassemblies, data formats and graphics viewers of some Spectrum games (The Hobbit, Dynamite Dan etc) Icemark Try the Data Formats and Downloads links, though not all of them work now.

More Spectrum games (Manic Miner, JSW, Skooldaze series) here. Very well documented source.

Thanks, the list is getting a little unwieldy, so I'll look at some other way to index the entries and then add them in. Maybe there's something in google docs that allows filtering by platform and stuff like that.

There are about four "illegal" disassemblies made into conversions, where the source code has been available, and some of them have been available for decades. At this point, I think if something would have been done..

My gods remake is not originated from a disassembly.
I had done a ce viewer but it sucked!
I had reverse engineered magic pockets level data with some help from kroah (kroah is the reverse engineering genius and an ace c#/vb coder)
