I just say, I am pretty amused when someone is defending copyright of 16x16 pixels, that is stolen already.

I think the important point is not so much taking somebody else's graphics but also claiming the creator credits for yourself and selling the product.

In any case, since you think (whole animations of) 16x16 pixels are trivial, I'm sure you will happily create replacement graphics for the game...

Ok, I've taken careful look at the screen shot's I've gathered, and yes. You're right (and I was wrong). It was a complete rip of of the Capcom game character. Boring character? Yes. Un-unique character? Yes.
But it was rip off. Complete rip off.
I had impression it was somewhat just inspired by it.

Only a fool would take graphics from a Capcom game and try to sell it for any reason. For global heat problem, for UNICEF or for what ever reason that was extremely stupid. Even if it was free he would have been bashed for being a lamer.

The Amiga has a long history of creativity, people used to create worlds and new things with it, and that legacy can't accept all this and the current state of the Amiga scene.

Exactly!!! It's there for all to see on his Facebook page and mcgeezer found the images on the web once all this came to light... see this post and this one.

...these are besides the Capcom sprites used for the main character in the game.

in a legal sense britelite is right

everything is copyrighted of course that includes assets. Taking something from web from unsafe sources is highly risky even if you do not ask for money. So better license something from authors and legal sources even if you have to pay for it.

The company behind Giana Sisters was sued for it I think because of copying ideas. So yes
