BTW, pixel art is more like chess pieces. I doubt it'll lose in value even after a thousand years.

With so many developers now doing iOS/android, or xbla versions of their games, you never know what old games will be worth protecting.

Firstly, US Gold nor Delphine Software no longer exist - though some company somewhere probably still owns the copyright to it.

Secondly, I said I was using them as a reference for my animations. I never said I'd use their sprites in my own game. If you take a closer look at the sprites in some games you can learn alot about how to draw your own characters and animations.
