I never liked GiMP but as far as free raster gfx editors go, it's pretty cool.

Old thread but anyway. Those optional plugins were always there on the photoshop cd if you looked.

IrfanView IFF, exporting capacity?
Ancient thread, but for clarity,
I don't see IFF export . I've installed the plug-in pack. http://www.irfanview.com/plugins.htm What have I missed, or was this an error? |

It doesn't look like IrfanView has an .IFF plugin. Have you tried XNView, you can batch process them to .IFF amiga version.
Have you not got Photoshop CS/CS2/CS3/CS4 EDIT: Yes it has, just done a search and found it half way down. Did you download the 'iv formats.zip' It actually says Quote:

Irfanview is shit. Get ACDSee 2.4 to view and save IFF.
Too lazy to find the IFF plugin for PS that I use, here's a link from Google: http://www.geocities.com/paris/3834/amigaphotoshop.html Don't forget to go Indexed color and think about COLOR00=background on Amiga. Unless you export to HAM, I guess. |

The .IFF plugin is already on the Photoshop CD . Just look in the Plugins folder, hidden somewhere on the CD, and put it in the plugins folder in the Photoshop Folder. The plugin is NOT installed by default, you have to do that manually I think I have mentioned this before, very recently.

Not really, depending on the version of Photoshop, depends on whether these plugins are compatible. Some aren't and you need the one off the CD
Besides I can't read French so I don't know whether they are compatible with the CS2/3/4 versions. EDIT: I was only asking Vortex which version he had because of this incompatability with plugins that has occurred with CS3 & CS4, besides I was originally answering to vodley when this PS plugin came around again and I/we don't even know if he uses PS. Erhh, I forgot this thread just a tiny little bit... .
Mission not yet accomplished. The plugin from Photon's does not work for PS CS3 on mac. PS recognizes it, but fails to load the plugin. Wonder if there is a IFF plugin for mac at all. Or any other conversion tool for that matter... |

Ah, yes now I see it
Don't have a Mac here, but with Windows it exports just fine to IFF. Wonder why Vortex haven't tried it when you mentioned it then. |
