WinUAE64 v4.9.1 and MiamiDx
Hi there!
I'm trying to get MiamiDx working in WinuUAE4 v4.9.1 but can't do it . (I have read other threads, watched AmigaSystem's video... I seem to have the exact same configuration...) I followed the usual steps by installing Npcap v1.72 (the latest), enabling uaenet.device, and configuring MiamiDx to use this device (I get the hardware address 00:00:00:32:33:34). Everything looks find but pinging any computer inside my network (e.g., 192.168.0.1) or outside (e.g., 8.8.8.8) fails. I attach WinUAE log, which seems to show that WinUAE detected my Windows network adapters, didn't it? So, what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance! PS. I'm not using WinUAE 4.10 for other reasons in another thread Last edited by tygre; 01 January 2023 at 22:53. |

Try uaenet.device unit numbers 2 or larger. 0 and 1 are always slirp units. 2+ are npcap devices.
If you want to only use some specific Windows interface (you seem to have many), select any hardware emulated device (like A2065) and select specific interface using expansion panel. uaenet.device does not have "direct" device selection. |

Hi Toni!
Thanks for you help! I tried different units until I found the one that matched the MAC address given by WinUAE: Code:
rpcap://\Device\NPF_{01E94D6A-7641-4A6A-8241-85307C948258} - Network adapter 'Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265' on local host - MAC 52:31:06:7D:B7:E8 -> AA:82:8A:7D:B7:E8 I can "force" a static IP but when I select DHCP, Miami says that it cannot determine my local IP address. In either case MiamiPing (of course) fails (either 192.168.0.1 or 8.8.8.8). Am I doing something wrong or missing something else? (I'll try A2065 next...) Cheers! |

PS. I also tried with the A2065, even using the "promiscuous" mode but still no luck
(I don't have Avast AV anymore, only Microsoft built-in AV.) I join some logs if they could help? Thanks in advance! |

Can you test with ethernet? I don't know if npcap supports wireless.

Hi Toni!
Yes, I did try with wired Ethernet and it works with both uaenet.device (when choosing the corresponding unit) and with A2065 As you said, it's probably that Npcap doesn't supports wireless adapters Actually, I just read here that my wireless adapter, a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265, isn't supported So, sorry for the troubles... Maybe I should try with WinPcap? I can't find info. about it and this Intel adapter. Or would you have any other solution? Take care! |

PS. I tried with WinPcap but same behaviour: it can capture my wired Ethernet adapter but not the wireless one... So I guess that I must use WinUAE bsdsocket.library that's luckily there!
