MiamiDX question.

Hi,

I was wondering if MiamiDX can still be bought, and if not, how to get it to be registered? If it can still be bought, are there any good free alternatives?

Any help is appreciated

AFAIK it cannot be bought or registered anymore. The website for Nordic Global Inc. disappeared from the web five years ago.

As have all other registration websites for Miami

While the software is not free and is still under copyright I am pretty sure you can use it without feeling guilty.

The alternative is AmiTCP from Aminet.

There is a key floating around the net once offered on the "Keyring" website. An illegal key-sharing site which started with good intentions.

They intended offering publicly released keys from the Authors but it soon became obvious that there were but a few of these and soon spiralled down into the world of Abandonware. Hosting illegal keys for loads of software that could no longer be registered.

I was interested in buying the 3.x (68k version) of Roadshow that finally ended up in 4.0, but it never happened. I would have bought it especially after reading the story a few years back written by the developer and how he did it.

I believe he started with the AmiTCP 3.0B2 as that was the last version that the sources were available for and wrote the rest of the Roadshow stack based on that.

The closest oddity I have been able to collect lately is INET-225 complete with binder. I always wanted to read about that stack. Sorry if I wandered out of place and off topic.

Sounds nice. As long as they don't offer keys for programs that are still being sold, it shouldn't be a problem.
