GOG isn't a streaming service. It's a digital games shop like Steam.

Go here. Buy. Download. Keep. Enjoy.

https://www.gog.com/en/game/mdk

(or the sequel: https://www.gog.com/en/game/mdk_2 )

I remember it!

It was a game way ahead of it's time.
Not only in graphics, but, if memory serves me correctly, the gameplay was also waaay ahead of it's time.
(remember how many 3D games in that period have very weird controls, and strange camera behavior... well... MDK didn't )

in 1999 when I firs saw a friend playing the MDK demo I decided to buy a PC, in that moment still had an A1200 + apollo 040 turboboard and I believed was the best computer on the world and better than a PC

resuming MDK : such game convinced me to buy a PC in the begining of 2000
I purchased a pcchips M810LMR motherboard + athlon 900 mhz + 128mb ram
and that was my 1st PC

I remember the difference of such PC was abismal cmpared to the A1200, which of course I left her abandoned

anways back to topic, the game MDK is fantastic, and was unique , there was no other

I was totally ignorant to it being ahead of it's time, when I was that age I was just like "what the hell is this? Oooh I like it" But hearing everyone's thoughts on it is making me realise.

I used to love the flying sections and hitting turbo to run even faster. I think I was also a little hypnotized by the environment and vibe as well.

I had it on PC, and it was one of the most unique and fun shooters, i have played The only other one, that was just as entertaining, would be Shogo: Mobile Armor division. And i still love the artwork, that came with MDK:

On GOG.com you can download the game and keep it without any launcher or online connection. It's like you would have 'bought' the game on a CD or DVD. Obviously you don't own the rights to the game, but you do not pay money to play the game within a launcher like Epic or Steam.

It almost runs playably on my A4000 with Dosbox_wos, but not fast enough to be enjoyable.

Actually managed to install it on my pc but it wont run for me. I had to mount the ISO, then download install32 shield, then use that in the setup folder to install ether DS version or WIN95 version or both.

Installed DOS version, couldn't get it to run.

Then installed WiN95 version, this installed, and opens fine, but when it loads it asks for disk to be inserted into drive G. I don't have the disk or a drive named G: so I dunno

I assume my pc (it is very old) would be powerful enough to run, Athlon cpu quad core clocked at 4.6 ghz and 16gb of ram.

Is your A4000 accelerated at all?

Didn't know DOS stuff was possible on our Amigas.

Are you using DOSBox to run it?

I tried it last night and everything seems OK.

MDK is truly a game where you can't help but think of one word: FUN! It delivers on all fronts: Graphics, sound, the sense of humor, overall style, and most importantly: The gameplay always has somethng new to offer throughout the campaign, be it sniping puzzles, sneaking past alien guards, the between-maps-parachute-jumps, or a top-down bombing run over a battlefield full of enemies. This type of game is nowadays sadly only seen in the indie scene, while it was a big release back then, with developer Shiny on top of their game.

No I do not, and now I feel silly as I didn't realise I'd need it. This is why I tried to install the win95 version. Which does load, but asks me for the disk to be inserted into Drive G:, and I have no Drive G:
