Conflict between fullscreen and resolution autoswitch
Today I ran WinUAE b16 and I have set the Amiga screen to Fullscreen, enabled VGA mode resolution autoswitch, and set resolution autoswitch to "Always on". Then I booted AmigaOS 3.9. When I started fMSX 2.3, for my surprise the screen began to "flash" like if the PC screen mode were being changed many times. Then I disabled VGA mode resolution autoswitch, and the screen stopped to flash. I think it was WinUAE trying to change the screen mode to DBLPAL, the screen mode I have chosen for the fMSX screenmode.

At least it is not DBLPAL or DBLNTSC. Unless they have been modified.

That is very strange because I removed all monitor drivers from DEVS:Monitors except PAL, NTSC, DBLPAL, DBLNTSC before starting WinUAE to generate the log.
I opened the fMSX preferences and the screen mode that it open at start is DBLNTSC LowRes, and not DBLPAL. It is configured to use only the DBLNTSC variants (all of them). I dont understand why I said DBLPAL at principle (maybe because it is the most common that I use). Last edited by Leandro Jardim; 29 May 2016 at 12:37. |

It can't be normal DBLNTSC because refresh rate should be about 60Hz, not 47.6Hz that your log shows.
Do you get same parameters in log file if you select same mode in WB? Or some paint program or something. First step is to confirm if it is the mode or something to do with fMSX. |

With Workbench I get screen flashes too, but not the same parameters in log file. The refresh rate is now at 57 Hz. And, for some reason fMSX was outputting 47 Hz, but I did another log and now it outputs 57 Hz, which is the real refresh rate. I have made two new logs, one for Workbench and another for fMSX for you.
