Question How to update WinUAE without losing previous install and config

I'm relatively new to WinUAE, and I just finished installing WB Classic in my A1200 configuration.

It's working great and I have managed to install and run some WHDLoad games and also applications (Dpaint IV, Cinema4D, Aladdin 4D, FW97).

But I have a question: how can I update WinUAE (currently using v3.1.0) when a new version is released, without losing my previous work/configuration?

I have just copied the WinUAE executable over the old one - the settings etc are saved elsewhere.

Simply copy - paste latest beta .exe to your WinUAE folder and run it (i'm using names of each beta of it's own) or you can copy - paste your saved config file with .uae extension (from WinUAE/Configurations) to corresponding folder of updated one (and check if hardfiles are linked correctly). The hardfiles .hdf or .vhd are most important, because they're store your system / files / "work". You can create new config base and link the hardfiles to it.
