weird prob with floppies

Hey

Got a weird problem here

I try to format a floppy with "format a: /t:80 /n:9" to format it as a 720K, it gets to 5% then says device busy and fails...

I just bought a new pack of floppies so it isnt them, ive tried 4 diff floppy drives, which all worked before...

These are 2HD disks, but that shouldnt make a diff should it?

Cheers for any help

Possibly... try covering the hole with sellotape or something like that and try again.

ok... apparently you cover the non-tabbed side with tape, then format it in the amiga, but you format pc0 not df0, after mounting pc0 and inserting the disk, all it says is "df0???" am i doing something wrong?

EDIT
woooo after days of strugglng i finally solved it:

Incase anyone else has this problem:

Used an old Amiga floppy, iformatted pc0 with command "format drive pc0: name empty"

then it works in pc and amiga *whdload time*

Now I remember...

PC drives struggle with Amiga-formatted disks. They just can't find the first sector and give up. It's best to use new pre-formatted floppies and tape over the hole like Graham suggested.

Still weird that it can't get pass 5%.
