Strange things happening on EAB
I dont know where to put this so I am making new thread about it here. I am surprised that someone else deleted visitors messages in my profile (deleted by killergorilla, reason boring).
Thats not for the first time and I am not sure if it was really deleted by KG (hacker ). And if it was deleted by KG (and I doubt about it), why? |

Yes, it was a Hacker, from the french "Acarien" (aka Pest mites), Eab is full of them.

mmm best bet is post a PM directly to KG.
what is in public interest, instead, is that every mod, no matter of what forum, is able to edit messages in the visitor area of the profile. obviously there's no difference in moderators as the visitor messages rest in a "out of forum" space. to make only G. mods to be able to edit such messages, would be put a lot of work more, - a huge lot, since those messages are not indecized in the main EAB index, nor in the search, to my knowledge -on their shoulders. so it stand to reason that when looking casually in a member profile a mod would stumble on the odd visitor message with problems, he could edit it away. that should require however that the mods would be respectful of the content of what is a more private area than the main one, for the very same reasons above. so for instance, a "boring" motivation to delete a thread in the OT area would not have the same weight in there, IMHO. In any case, my 2 cents, for all the above reasons, is that the profile owner contact the very mod that edited the messages privately, and, if possible, the two make some accord that way: so resuming, that area is in my opinion, an attachment to be considered to be moderated and worthy of attention, for the better or for the worse, only in case of a consistent problem. |

I found some posts were deleted and edited in social clubs by our watchful mod (not appropriate for EAB) and I would like to appeal to everybody for using appropriate language, its beyond one mans strength being vigilant all the time.
I want to help killergorilla with his campaign and alert to two posts, one in Yolanda Haters Guild s.c., 27/6/2008 and another one in Internet Top Blokes s.c., 27/6/2008, both posted by killergorilla (word f..k). Save your supermoderationedit skills KG, Ill do it for you: Sorry for being such an idiot |

Well, it's happened to me too!
KG has deleted a visitor's message from by profile page, reason being "not appropriate for EAB". This place is getting to be less fun by the day! And I'm not joking! What next, I wonder? prowler Last edited by prowler; 11 April 2009 at 04:15. |

So far I have found 57 posts with words like f..k, f....t, b...h, d..k and I checked only 5% of all posts Its hard work. When its done I report all of them. I dont know if I should report posts with words like penis and vagina, they are not appropriate for amiga board but they are medical terms |

Maybe you and prowler should just talk with KG and I guess this will be sorted quite fast. Even if not there are the GMs and RCK if you feel like it. Can't see why this should carry on in public. |

Yes, g..y, sorry
I am not sure if this would be sorted. And, we can ask same question, why KG didnt contact us and authors of not appropriate messages to edit them and delete certain words instead of editing and deleting them without any warning ? KG carried out his disappointment with OT area in project.eab thread too, whats wrong on carrying out my disappointment with arrogant behaviour of moderator? There are posts in amiga area containing words like bi.ch, fu.k but message "I love you, you are my favourite g.ey," must be deleted? |

About the other swear words : Maybe you should report them, but I think the reason why you do it is a bit childish. |

I am not gonna report anything But I should, I should
edit - it would be childish reaction to childish behaviour and its irony I cant sort something with someone who sorted something on his own Its deleted and its already sorted. Its between me and KG but I dont have a trust in him now (and I am sad about it) and its more question of principles and its not only between me, prowler or kg. And mods can close this, delete it, ban me for making stupid threads etc, till its open and I (and prowler now, someone else?) can express my disappoitment about it, I would. You are not mod TCD and you are one of the few who cares about it |
