I doubt he'll pay.

As twizzle said, probably a mate bidding or a previous buyer with a grudge against the seller.

Or maybe he's just loaded and wanted a brown Amiga.

I think you can expect prices to continue to escalate, particularly as:

1. The whole retro-gaming/ computing thing gathers steam, and

2. People who are hard-core enthusiasts realise that there are no new spare parts being manufactured - nor will there ever be.

For my A4000 I've got two complete units plus a third motherboard/ daughterboard as spares, and that's not quite enough!

Fair comment, but have you seen the 'untested' amiga mouse currently going at 10.00?

That's daft

If the stuff gets rare enough people will start shops to repair them won't they? Unless you short something out by plugging things in with power on most problems due to age are just dead capacitors and battery leaks taking out tracks.

There days most gear just gets dumped into the trash because ebay is cheaper then fixing them, that will change sooner or later.

Yeah there was an A1000 on eBay a while ago that sold for quite a large amount. I was extremely surprised, usually I've seen them go for 50-100 dollars.

People are out of their minds. An A2000 060 accelerator recently went for $550 on ebay. Because of prices, I've come to the conclusion that I'm probably done buying Amiga hardware. For the $550, I'd take a PS3 over an 060 any day of the week.

$550 is a decent chunk of change, I wonder if I spent that for all my amiga gear (excluding shipping).

Depends on your point of view... if I was in the market for one and it was 100% working I'd pay $550 for it quite happily. Although to be honest I prefer having ActionReplay3 in my A2000 slot

But I agree that 155 for an A500+ is STUPID

This is the reason I give up on buying an Amiga or Amiga CD32.

Prices are insane, and with WinUAE I can play all the games, plus if I were to get setup simillar to the one I have in WinUAE I would have to pay more then 550...

Yes Anubis, you have a point BUT I can get a Supermodel to perform all sorts of gratifying acts on my PC.... However that doesnt even come close to beating the look and touch of my REAL Missus

Scary example...

Yes, real thing is better.

But I'm not in hurry (either for amiga or super model :P). I am not planing to pay more then $100.00 bucks for an A1200 model and I will wait untill I find one.
