UAE for XBox?
I have a question that I hope you can answer (please), is there a project to port UAE to the XBox system? I think it could be very fast and a good system because it is a closed system (more than a classic Amiga) and it could be tuned to the most... MAME is now running in XBox, why not UAE?

Would it require much coding to port it to Xbox?
Microsoft might even offer some money to develop a commercial piece of Software cheers |

I agree that XBOX is great emulator platform, but unfortunately there are some problems:
1: you need chipped xbox to run unofficial programs 2: xbox sdk is only available to big game houses. -> only possibility to develop xbox programs is leaked xbox sdk but it is illegal.. |

Usually that would mean the same thing if you were going to make emulation. Most people who would get the emulator would be likely to expect a rom with it.

How about a keyboard? That's currently lacking in the X-box offerings...

Would probably be made a hack for soon enough. The PS2 has shown that it's not impossible to get a keyboard. And the Xbox has USB, even though it's a messed up USB. Can't expect MS to follow standards. Well it's their console.

I see a version of Mame for xbox is already out and now someones ported a N64 emulator for it. (go to retrogames.com to see piccys) so an amiga emulator should be feasable.
Unfortunately getting the mod chip may be difficuilt as microsoft appears to be sueing every company that makes them. |

And you should think that MS would be happy that others are using their stuff to make a possible takeover of other consoles possible wouldn't you?

I don´t like Micro$oft, but XBox is like a dream come true.
The diable has too many forms to enter our home... I like this way. Sony is another Demonio... I prefer M$ in the consoles war, that´s simple. |

Do you think amiga fans will choose x-box as an emulator platform for their old computers . I don't think so. People use WinUAE because it's the best uae and PCs are so popular, x-box uae won't have a large target audience.

Not as an emulator but it is the best entertainment system being sold today.
And remember that XBox scene is getting very strong in every typical aspect. The XBox scene remember me the good old days of Amiga Scene with plenty of develops and entusiastic people with any strange idea being worked; from an emulator to graphical demos... from underground to profit makers. XBox scene bring to my mind past good times. UAE can be optimized for a closed, stable and over the standar hardware, that´s XBox. Micro$oft has reinvented the Amiga... Paula, Agnus, Denisse... NVidia NV2X, MCP... Think about it. |

The Xbox hacking community has garnered a lot of attention as of late with the announcement of many applications, both legal and illegal. The hacking community is thrust into the spotlight again today as it was revealed that the first Xbox program not using the Xbox SDK (Software Developer's Kit) was created. While this is a step in the right direction for the community, as they’ve created the first legal homebrew application, it should be noted that a modded Xbox is needed to use the software.
In other news, it was revealed that the Lynx emulator, Handy, was ported over to Xbox. Stay with us for more news as it develops. |

I wonder if somebody could make a amiga emulator on the dreamcast. You would not need a modchip, there are cheap keyboard/mice/vga addons for the unit. SEGA would not care about anybody doing the emulator, and untill the xbox came out the dreamcast was the EMU platform of choice for consoles.
