Dopus problems
I installed a vanilla WB 3.1 on my 1200 030 and then installed an old version of Dopus 4.12 i think it was... this worked fine but when i installed 4.16 and tried to launch it i got a suspend or reboot dialog box! I then installed MCP and Magic WB 2.1p and now when i try and launch it Dopus appears to be loading but it doesnt and just freezes the OS and i have to reboot! anyone know what could be happening?

give snoopdos a try: http://aminet.net/package/util/moni/SnoopDos
start it before launching dopus, and position the window of snoopos in the foreground before starting dopus. enable anything usefull (libs /devices resouces...) in snoopdos settings. maybe you can get an answer, before it freezes again. |

Hi,
I know that there is a patch file for Opus 4.16 which may need to be installed. Do a search on Aminet. If that fails, try a clean install? Regards, ed... |

Hi, I had the same prob. with v. 4.16 of DOpus, so I just went back to 4.12 .... Tho, sometime later I DL'd 4.16 again and it worked. My guess is that either that patch is needed, or one of the Dopus archives from Aminet is corrupt/broken. Maybe someone with a working 4.16 could up it to the Zone...

The patch is actually just a file that's missing in the main archive. The one in the zone includes this file. I've tested Dopus4.16 with a clean workbench 3.0 install and the program works just fine. Also, the program doesn't need installing, just copy the directory to the place you want, and run it from there. If it still doesn't run, try disabling patches, etc, and keep trying until it works. That way you should be able to figure out what's keeping it from functioning. |

Under an emulated 3.9 system via WinUAE everything worked as expected. Curiously, Snoopdos reports were identical in both cases. Yeah, totally clueless of what's going on here -- |

¡Ooops! It was just a matter of installing the right setpatch (in my case 43.6b). That solved it all. ^_^'
