Weird WarpOS/Warp3D problems after installing MiamiDX/IBrowse
Hey peeps,
Wonder if anyone has ever had or knows what might be causing this issue :help Since installing MiamiDX and IBrowse my Warp3D and WarpOS games are running extreamly slow, like 1fps :shocked This is Quake 2 and Wipeout 2097. Both were running fine before I introduced the new apps. At first I thought the PPC had overheated or something almost shat my pants, but I've tried it in my other Amiga and everything is fine with the Hardware - phew! So then I thought maybe the BVision was at fault but GLQuake(68k) is running fine, smooth as ever. So it seems games using both the PPC and WarpOS are now screwed. :guru Any ideas as to what may be the cause, any libs from these two apps that could upset thing? I guess its a long shot and I might have to revert to a backup made prior to these introductions and try another TCP/IP stack. For what its worth I'm online, browsing fine and everything is sweet as a nut! Cheers, Steve. |
Hey yup pals!
All sorted, just replaced files from my backup and redone the assign for Miami, games running fine, web browsing fine = WIN!!! :D Steve. |
cool cool
Are you enjoying the bVision? It is was nice to have a gfx card on my amiga, but alas I stopped using it. (too much effort lol) |

Its the dogz nutz mate! I'm using this now more than my Towered A1200, there is something sooooo special about such a high end miggy in a desktop, from the outside it just seems like a normal A1200 and I love the subtle look of the Desktop A1200. I've put a little VGA heatsink/fan on the BVision for heat tests last night and after a Quake 2 and Wipeout session the Permedia is cool to touch so I guess that does the trick, and this is with the Desktop case closed. But I was lucky as I had help setting up the CGX/WarpOS/Warp3D - I will try to do my own setup soon but its nice that its all working perfect, just not quite as rewarding as when you nail it yourself. Steve. |
it took me 4 attempts to get it all working.
Having it as a tower was what stopped me using it. Once it was towered all the joy went away. Now that I have my 030/50 back in the wedge I actually use my 1200. I do miss the 060 ;( *sob* hehe. But I didn't "need" it. It should now be in a more loved home. |

I know its not the same but you can always play with WinUAE for the apps and Demo's that need the extra speed. I always found A1200 With a Blizzy 1230MkIV to be the perfect Desktop A1200 for Gaming. I just have an addiction to upgrading! Maybe one day I'll got back to that setup, for now I'm enjoying the hacking and I get my WHDLoad fix from my accelerated A600 :great Steve. |
Yup, winuae, and i have Icaros too, for my "fast" amiga fix.
The 030 makes WHDload work great. The 060, did let me fix my one and only whd install i wrote, which had cache issues.. ;) It was fun to see all the ppc software, but there was nothing "unique" that I couldn't do anywhere else, and I had only a 175mhz ppc. AOS4.0 never interested me. I did get to experiment with morphos tho. |

I'm looking forward to trying OS4.1 Classic on my 330mhz PPC Tower and will be getting a 256mb Radeon for it. This badboy also has 72mhz 060! I doubt that would have been much fun with 175mhz PPC and BVision though. I'll probably try it on my Desktop A1200 but I don't expect much... (this has 060@50mhz/240mhz PPC) Steve. |
