[PC Demos] Hot sound & Vision CD-ROM

okay so its not amiga, sorry, but i'm trying to get an iso of this DOS demo cd that was doing the rounds back in the days.

even the guy who made it doesnt seem to have any, maybe someone here has this?

prowler 29 May 2010 23:43

It's quite possible that I've got this CD. I'll have a look through my old media boxes and let you know.

prowler 30 May 2010 14:51

Hi Interceptor,

Good news! :D I have both original Hot Sound & Vision 1 and 2 IBM PC CD-ROMs, each containing 600MB of demos and music from the erstwhile Sound and Vision BBS. :)

How would you like me to make the ISO(s) available to you?

Interceptor 30 May 2010 23:20

wow, that is teh awesome.

hows best for you? its nice if everyone can get hold of them......

prowler 30 May 2010 23:23

If you would like them both, then I'll upload them to my user folder on the EAB File Server in the next couple of days, and TCD can decide where they should go. :)

Interceptor 30 May 2010 23:30

i have no idea where or what the EAB file server is but it sounds cool.

do i just wait for a message here from TCD in the coming days?

prowler 30 May 2010 23:43

Keep your eye on this thread:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43633

The EAB File Server login details are in the first post.

I shall post there that I wish to upload them and TCD will reply to tell me it's okay. If I then let him know when I have done it, he will announce where they have been moved to, so that everyone can grab them. :spin

i was just thinking if its any easier i could just paypal you for a couple of CD-Rs...?

upload speeds on adsl and cable are kinda grim.

then later i could seed it or something if anyone else wants it.

prowler 08 June 2010 23:06

I wil upload them to the EAB server. I have created the ISOs. Now I just have to compress and upload them.

I have not had a chance to do it yet, because I am trying to preserve ASAP a collection of floppy disks respresenting the coding history of the AlienBash programmers. I'm now down to just a few troublesome disks...

Don't worry, you'll get them. I'll probably start uploading the images before the weekend. I'll try and get the inserts scanned as well.

i also have "hot sound and vision 2" from 1994. i remember keeping it safe as it was a holy CD (it was ;), thank you rob barth)

what are you planning to use to watch those demos; dosbox or an old computer with GUS?

I've uploaded the Hot Sound and Vision ISOs to my user folder on the EAB File Server. When TCD has moved them, they will be available to download. :)

I will upload scans of the inserts to go with them tomorrow.

Edit: Done! :D

Interceptor 12 June 2010 01:00

Hi, long time lurker, first time poster. Nice to meet you all!
I've been trying to get hold of the Hot Sound and Vision CD but can't find it anywhere on the FTP! Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

Hi flystatic,

The Hot Sound and Visdion CDs are on the EAB File Server in the /Commodore_Amiga/Misc/Various/PC/HotSound&Vision/ folder. :)

There are archives containing both CDs in ISO format and the inserts are in the separate Artwork archive.

Awesome, found and downloaded. There were some excellent mods from the second CD that I lost over ten years ago, :guru listening to them now through VLC. Ahh memories

Prowler, you rock. :great

Wow, I signed up purely to say a massive thanks for the uploads. Back around 1993 I bought the Hot Sound & Vision CDs and loved them, but a mate borrowed them and never got to give them back. I have just seen this forum and will see if they are still there to download, I hope so. I found here via Google search, sadly I never got an Amiga, but I did love my Atari ST in my pre-PC days, I would of course argue with my Amiga loving mates that my ST was the best. I think I remember bragging that mine had about .75 mhz of speed difference, ha.

By the way, if anyone can help me by naming the mod that says "oneknee, wu wu wu wu oneknee" then please let me know. Those aren't the correct words, but that is how it sounds. I have been looking for that mod again in over 18 years and I know it is on one of the sets.

Thanks again !!

Yes, they are still there, as you will have seen by now. :great

It would be appreciated if you let us know when you have found it. ;)

Retrofan 27 October 2012 22:41
