I guess we could just have a policy that says that we will clear out everyone's upload folder every 6 months and give ample warning before doing so. That would also incentivize people to have their stuff moved outside their upload folder.

Just a thought.

I think we'll go that route instead. Then I wont have to set up rules for which folders to see in the FTP and I won't have to hide anything in the HTTP browser ( https://ftp2.grandis.nu/turran/FTP )

Sounds good to me

Once we have a schedule/date for a uploads folder cleanup it could be added to that note. Otherwise it contains everything that is important I'd say.

Excellent. A new upload_rules.txt have been sent to everyone's upload folder. Read it and delete it on ftp2.grandis.nu to enable file/folder creation again =)

Deleting it constitutes accepting the rules within.

I don't seem to be having any luck downloading files from the ftp server... I am using filezilla - it connects but just fails to download any files... I am doing something obviously wrong... ?

Check first post on how to configure filezilla to only use one connection.
You cant have two or more at the same time with the anonymous account.

Cheers, I made the changes to FileZilla but I still get nothing downloaded - at the top I get this message...

Response: 530 Sorry, your maximum number of connections from this IP (1) has been reached.
