Albion

I was curious to know where the screenshots of Albion came from.

I've seen the later ones, the demo is posted on Aminet.

But the ones which have the same graphics as Albion with the character screen.

Is this a different demo? Anyone got it available? If it's the same demo how do you access the other half?

If you can find them and put them in the Zone I would appreciate it. Albion was programmed and pixelled by Ex-Thalion people, and seeing how I run the Thalion Webshrine

Look in TheZone!

I have not tested it
but in my memory it's a bit fastidious to install (assign to do)

but you must have Dungeon level and wonderfull external level (without wall collision)

That is the one I have, from the Aminet.

How do you access the world level? I can only access the dungeon level.

Bump

I too would like to know where the HOL screenshots came from; and how to access the "world level" from the Aminet demo?

I've translated the German text from Albion to English:

Quote:
We finally did it! Here is the old state of development of Albion on the Amiga. It is nothing more than a dungeon routine without Collision query and with some bugs. There are definitely better ones these days Techniques on the Amiga, but this routine has been for 2 1/2 years old. After unpacking the file, there are several executables Programs. Just try them all, the best version is the "DDT_MCP" (DDT = the third part ;-)).

CAUTION: We cannot guarantee the functionality of this Apply pre-alpha version. Please don't make us do it responsible if the 3D routine should crash and yours Unsaved work of 8 hours with traveling into the grave ...

TIPS: It is controlled with the mouse, directly in the 3D window. With the Cursor keys can influence the fog effect. The files were created with packed into the LHA program.
I can only get "Test_Dungeon" to run... also it doesn't need any of the folders / other files.

If I try to run "DDT_MCP" I get:

If I try to run "DDT_test" or "DDT_test_alt" or "DDT_test_m1_ger_Sichtw" or "DDT_test_m3_ger_Sichtw" I get:

I've tried creating assigns for "Omnidata" and "Omnifiles" but no difference...

SnoopDOS doesn't give any clues either...

When viewing the file "DDT_MCP" it seems to be looking for "Work: DDT/Various/Temporary/Small_MCP.s" which is nowhere in the archive...

Thread renamed from "Question: Albion Screenshots?" --> "Albion".

Also moved from the HOL contributions section --> the project.aGTW section; where hopefully it gets more exposure.

You need to use kickstart 3.0 to be able to run the sections of the demo you're searching for. Screenshots were made with the same aminet demo that is available.

LEGEND!!!; many thanks

...now why didn't I try that??? To be honest I didn't think it would be that simple.

Using "KS 3.0 (A1200)" and also assigning the main directory where files / folders are to "DDT" works perfectly

So now along with "Test_dungeon", these run fine:
  • DDT_MCP
  • DDT_test

"DDT_test_alt" just does this:

"DDT_test_m1_ger_Sichtw" and "DDT_test_m3_ger_Sichtw" both just do this:

Ok, here's a nice self-booting / bare-bones .HDF that I slapped together for people

Just use an AGA (2MB Chip & 4MB Fast RAM) configuration with a "KS ROM v3.0 (A1200) rev 39.106 (512k).rom".

@alexh; feel free to host on your Thalion Webshrine
