What does this WHDLoad error message mean?
Whenever I try to run a game in WHDLoad, I get the error message "Can't allocate ShadowMem." What does this mean and how do I fix it? I'm running a system with the bare minimum requirements and games that fit those requirements (i.e. 1MB RAM).

If you only have an amiga setup with 1MB then a lot of WHDload games will not work. WHdload allocates much of the game in memory, so in most cases, 1MB will not be enough. What workbench are you running with 1MB?
Upping the memory to 2MB Chip & 4MB fast should not have too much of an impact, and will allow a lot more games to work. Mark |

That's funny because the game I'm trying to run (Awesome) says it needs 1MB of RAM and I'm still getting the error.

Computolio - you have to also take into account that Workbench is using memory - I had 6MB memory in total and it refused to run games that needed 4MB because I had that much junk on Workbench.
Upgrading the memory is probably the best bet. |

The Readme's in the installs sometimes mean the memory which is required for the game itself so you need to add the memory required for OS, WHDLoad and all your background applications running.
Sometime the Readme's mean the memory which is at least required if you have a lean Workbench and no other applications running. |
