Abbey(s) of the Dead

A thread for my future port of L'Abbaye des Morts to the Amiga using Scorpion Engine.

Plan is to have the L'Abbaye des Morts port as a Scorpion sample game, but also make an expanded standalone game (new campaign when you beat standard game).

Current Amiga game development finishing priority is Duckstroma then Abbey of the Dead/BlimpgeddonX.

Will it be somehow enhanced game-wise, or it will be a 1:1 port? (not talking about that late expanded campaign)

Looks nice definitely bit better looking than in first release. But I wonder how it will look and play n montion?

Only enhancements are toggle crawling, variable height jumping, terrain that is 8 pixels high acting like platforms rather than solids and all new redrawn graphics for everything.

Looks like a lot of work is still ahead of You. Are You planning to add secret mini game accessible from first screen ?

No, no secret mini game like the one added for C64, just an extra 20+ screens campaign upon beating normal game.

I always thought that naming this game in french was a bit weird since absolutely nobody was speaking french at that time in the region were the game take place, and especially not the cathars, since one of their particularity was to preach in occitan language for ideologic reasons rather than the latin one that was used by the catholic church at that time. French was the language of a foreign state, that ended up to be the conqueror of this territory, slaughtering a third of its population.
"L'Abadia dels Morts" would have been a more historical accurate name.

Finished but not released. Currently playtesting for bugs, before 10/6/22 digital release.
