Octamed conversion help
I have a song which is in med format and have tried to open it with med sound studio and it just crashes, it plays fine if I open it as a soundstudio executable file. Is there any software to convert it over to mod format?

hmmmmies....
Try opening the file in Octamed 4/5 or 6 see if that works... once opened you can then save out as any format you wish... I had a lot of trouble with OLD med formats on my PC version of Octamed SS so I just booted up an old version in WinUAE and then saved out the files... |

Not sure if that would work as the song is ripped from a demo and it saved as a med file into the winuae directory. Wouldn`t the song have to be on a disk adf?

heys Cope UK,
Welcome to the EAB, i am sure you will like it here okies... If you have a working workbench install running under WinUAE you can load Octamed 4/5 or 6 and from that load in the med file. to give workbench and obviously octamed access to the file, in WinUEA >> Add Harddives menu, add the pc directory to the list as another hard disk. all should be good |

Well, your file is corrupt!
Windows says it´s a .tif image and I can´t read it with OctaMed SS and older versions on my Amiga. Please upload it once again. Last edited by viddi; 10 January 2007 at 12:52. |

http://amp.dascene.net/home.php - if you do a search for some justice it comes back with two modules a MOD and a MED. Maybe one of them is it?

Try ModPlug Tracker.
Code:
The player supports a variety of module music files in both native and compressed (ZIP/RAR/LHA) formats: * .669: UNIS 669, 669 Composer modules * .AMF: Asylum / DSMI modules * .AMS: Velvet Studio AMS 1.x modules * .DBM: DigiBooster Pro modules * .DSM: DSIK internal format modules * .FAR: Farandole Composer modules (beta) * .IT: Impulse Tracker modules * .MED: OctaMed modules * .MDL: DigiTracker 1.x modules * .MOD: ProTracker modules (4-32 channels, 15/31 samples) * .MOL: Module lists, compatible with MOD4WIN * .MTM: MultiTracker modules * .NST: NoiseTracker modules * .OKT: OktaLyser modules * .PTM: PolyTracker modules * .S3M: ScreamTracker III modules * .STM: ScreamTracker II modules * .ULT: UltraTracker modules * .UMX: Music files from Unreal Engine 1 games (essentially one of the above formats in an additional container) * .WOW: Grave Composer modules * .XM: FastTracker modules * .WAV: Wave Files (smaller than 16MB) |

(This is from memory; haven't used OctaMED SS in about 2 years, so I'm a bit hazy about the specifics.) |

Hi there
Can anyone tell me the settings for WinUAE to get the Some Justice AGA Demo working? I downloaded some settings with the demo from http://amiga.emucamp.com/somejustice.htm But whenever I try to load it, it tells me "Some Justice AGA needs more RAM" and then a cursor I've tried different RAM settings but to no avail. Used to run this demo on my A1200 with 8MB RAM expansion? Anyone know? If not, how can I rip the MED/MOD from it? Cheers, Dave |
