Appiah's comprehensive 15KHz monitors list of caveat emptor
I've been on the lookout for a cheap 2nd hand 15KHz capable TFT recently and found it exceptionally difficult to get a hold of a list of what to look for. The information seems to be spread out around on the internet in the form of blog posts, videos, forum threads and whatnot and it took me a good long night's work to compile everything I found into a single worksheet so that others may not suffer as I did.
The sources I used in the process are (in case you want to dig in further): Amibay list thread: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php...al-23pin-conns Amiga.org thread: http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=71775 Amigaworld.net thread: http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/...35380&forum=25 Atari Wiki (courtesy of demolition): http://www.atari-wiki.com/index.php/Flat_Panel_Displays EAB thread: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=80217 Retropix list: http://www.retropix.com.br/lista-de-...aceitam-15khz/ Wikidot list: http://15khz.wikidot.com/ Anyway, the compiled list can be found here as a google sheet and I hope it helps somebody. I ended up removing the CODE block here because maintaining the list both in thread and on Google Docs is too much of a hassle. I want to stress that I did not personally confirm any of this and can't be held responsible for any purchases that end up not working, I'm just compiling the reports of others' posted on the internet. I'll probably be buying the FN510 to confirm in a month or two. If you have any monitors you can confirm I'll add them to the list. Cheers. Last edited by appiah4; 25 July 2017 at 11:46. |

Perhaps you could paste the list here so people can see it without needing a login and requesting access?
There is also this list, however it might be an overlap of the other ones: http://www.atari-wiki.com/index.php/Flat_Panel_Displays |

You're including a lot of monitors which only work in ST high resolution mode, which is basically VGA. In other words, this list is more dangerous than helpful.

I did mark them as Partial and kept comments saying low res does not work, but if you thin it's better to mark these monitors as no 15khz I'll go ahead and revise that.

Only use the ones mentioned as low/med compatible. All monitors are compatible with ST high since it's 31 kHz.

I own a Dell U2412M monitor and it does sync to Amiga 15kHz modes in 50Hz (PAL) only. 60Hz (NTSC) doesn't work.
Also listed as 15kHz compatible in the linked Amibay thread. Edit: attached photo |

The LG V2363W monitor sort of syncs to the 15kHz too, but the image is stretched horizontally, flattened vertically and there's random garbage on the bottom. "Works" in both 50Hz (PAL) and 60Hz (NTSC) modes.

Looks quite decent in the photo with proper aspect ratio, and this model is quite common here in Denmark unlike the BenQ models. Have you tried out any games to test out the motion smoothness?

My new Dell SE2717H syncs down to 15KHz when using a buffered VGA adaptor. Not sure if it would work with an unbuffered one.
Gotta say, picture quality is pretty good but not perfect (you can see pixels squished together in grids). I have to admit that it's 100% perfect when using my internal scandoubler paired with 5:4 and some adjustments. The monitor syncs down to 50Hz perfectly and the scandoubler works out the rest for some pixel-perfect, awesomely smooth Amiga action! |
