Kickstart 3.1 40.68 Amiga 3000

Hi,

There is a question that I have and I didn't find the answer...maybe someone here can answer it

I have an A3000D (recently adquired) with 3.1 40.68 roms installed but I think that maybe they are faulty (lots of booting problems+red screens ). The mainboard is a rev. 8.9 and doesn't have a rom tower, so the 3.1 roms are fitted directly to the motherboard (U180 and U181). But the question (or questions) is:

I tried to find out about the 3.1 40.68 A3000 kickstart version but it seems that there are only the 40.62 and the 40.70 (not SCSI support)...so...which 40.68 is it? the A4000 or A1200 version or another one specifically designed for the A3000 (that can't be found anywhere for testing )?

Is it ok that these roms are fitted in U180 and U181 sockets?

Thank you!

There is a 40.68 for the A3000, kicksum 8F4C0C67, crc32 EFB239CC.. It's what I run in mine.

It is ok for the ROMs to be there. The machine wouldn't boot up at all if they were in the incorrect sockets.
