Kickstart Query
Hello all,
I am using the Kickstart ROMS that I have with the latest version of WinUAE (v1.0), then I went into the registry afterwards to see what Kickstart ROMS were verified and what were missing (as per thread http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...ight=kickstart)... One question for "ROM32" I actually have 2 different Kickstart ROMS which both get verified. These are: Kickstart v1.3 rev 34.5 (1987)(Commodore)(A3000).rom {size 262144} Kickstart v1.3 rev 34.5 (1987)(Commodore)(A3000)[o].rom {size 524288} Which one should I be using? |

The 512k file is just twice the 256k one in one file. You can use both, they are the same.

Is it one of those cases where the remaining 256Kb is full of blank data i.e. FF?
I shall use the 256Kb one then... Cheers. |

Yeah, the [o] signifies an overdump (since TOSEC seems to use some of the same filename tags as the Good* series). I'd say the 256K ROM was made by simply chopping the overdump in half.

Cool, thank you LocalH. I'll use the 256k one.
