Floppy disk Requesting original of disk 1 of Indy Fate of Atlantis Adventure [11 disks]

Hi guys, anybody here got the original of Indy FOA from Lucasarts, to be WHDLoad installed? ie. It must be the original complete with copy protection (I think that is the only one around, no budget version without protection like the Monkey Island 2 thread).

Cheers.

PS: I need only disk 1, the other cracked versions on the net work for all other disks. Thanks in advance!

What, do you mean you want to write a WHDLoad patch for it, or you want to install the game and use the WHDLoad patch with it? If it's the former, then I am quite nonplussed as to why you would consider executing such an act, since (as everyone probably knows already) Jeff recently released a patch for it anyway.

Don't take it the wrong way, buddy, just thought I'd point that out to ya.

I can upload disk 1 of the italian version if you want, but i'm not sure if that would work with the patch.

I don't think you would have any problem playing the game because you can just copy the data files from the english version 1st disk and (correct me if i'm wrong) the patch only applies to the executable which should not have any language info in it.

Thumbs up Indy WHDLoad

Thanks Akira, you're a legend. If you try this game on a *REAL* amiga, unless you degrade the chipset (and caches I think) the display is completely screwed. Even TUDE etc first won't fix it, and the standard lucasarts patch doesn't work on my 030... For emulator users you wouldn't care but for real Amiga owners it does matter. I hate having to do things on startup and my brothers have no idea other than double clicking an icon to start a game...

And yep, I only need disk one thanks

Well, my version always worked a treat on my A600, and the box says it works on a 1200/4000 machine. I'll upload the whole thing anyway, but disk one sepparated from the rest

Will post tomorrow!

Maybe your copy is a budget version or something, updated to run on more different Amiga models. That's what usually happens with re-releases of some games, anyway.

You think I wouldn't know if it is a budget release? :P IT ISN'T, I bought t as soon as it got released.

I re-checked the box and it didnt say A1200/4000 compatible, me bad! However the box contains a leaflet about A1200 computers. Lemme post about this later...

Alright, I have uploaded the original english version of Indy 4 to the ADF Zone.

According to this leaflet that came with my game, it should work on a 1200 after you hard drive install it, and choose the "ORIGINAL" chipset at startup. However it does not specifically say the game works 100%, as a mention to A1200 or A4000 machines does not appear in the box.

Anyway, the whole game is in english, only the box and documentation are in french. The package says a french version was released later, to which you could upgrade. Was it ever released?

I included box scans (back and front) and a scan of disk 1 in the file "Indiana_Jones_and_the_Fate_of_Atlantis[scans(fr)].zip".

The manual is in the file "Indiana_Jones_and_the_Fate_of_Atlantis[manual(fr)].zip". You will need this to play the game. Sorry about the quality, I had to increase the JPEG compression ratio so the manual doesn't end up weighing 2MB. You still can print it and pretend it's the real thing

Codetapper, I hope disk 1 proves useful.

Enjoy!

Smile Akira for president!

Just to show I'm extremely grateful, another thanks to the mighty Akira for uploading this game! Champion!

(And yep, that OCS selection thing does work but is a pain and my brothers wouldn't know what to do!)

Exclamation Wait a moment, Akira!

Pardon me for not understanding correctly, but why the hell would an English copy of the game carry a french box, manual, and disk label? You sure it was packaged like that when you bought it straight from the shelves? I would think everything in the box would be in English.

@Codetapper:

You mean "brothers" by actual siblings, right? Sorry for aksing this question, but I've heard a lot of people (particularly from the US often) call friends "brothers" as well.

Yeah I misread your message first time, then I found out you wanted to fix the game for good. No need to thank, I'm always glad to help you out

OK man, you piss me off. I bought the fucking game from the fucking shelves of a fucking french shop when I was in Paris. They first released the game like that and then they produced a french version (and offered an upgrade option). How hard is it to understand?? How many games you bought (if you bought any) outside the UK?

Oh boy... You get on my nerves, Marz.

Hey!!! How was I supposed to know which fucking country on the fucking planet you fucking got it from? WELL?! For all I know you could've bought the damn thing from Easter Island!!! Your hard reaction is getting me infuriated, Akira! I don't like it!!!

I've so far never bought games while in other countries. I have ordered (both online and in mags) for import games to be delivered, though. Plus import games can be bought from certain special games shops which specialise on imports, like Skillz just down in Ealing over here.

And why would french shops sell an English-language game before their actual own-language version? :suspiciou

I don't like the way you question shit you are clueless about. If I say the game was retail why do you 'suggest' it could be budget? What do you know? Were you with me when I bought the game? No. sheesh!

I suppose that if I have a french box and manual, I got the game from France. Where else? Slovakia?

Sorry if I was harsh, but you look for it man, you push that trigger in me that says 'nerve attack'. Read properly what I write next time, so we avoid further problems.

Here you go again. Common sense. Instead of holding out a game until it gets translated they sell it in english with local language instructions. A lot of people read english so they might not mind buying a game in english. The others wait for the local translation, IF it ever happens.

Arrow Brothers

Marz - Yes I have 2 brothers. Before you ask, neither of them can crack/aga fix/hd install games, they are game players only, their abilities extend to double clicking a game icon or selecting a game from a menu.

Let's end this thread, Akira has come thru with the goods!
