Could WAV files be an alternative?

Yes wav files are now supported too
Be aware that this will still require more CPU usage because it has to mix the output. Last edited by NovaCoder; 15 April 2021 at 14:01. |

Tried to get this to work but when I double click on the DukeNukem icon it does something but nothing loads. Trying it in WINUAE first and can see the cpu ticking over for about 10 seconds before zero happenings. What could I be doing wrong? I have the Duke3d.grp file in the same directory as instructed but dunno what else I should be doing. Any ideas?

@rabidgerry
What configuration are you using on WinUAE (PAl, RTG, CPU and RAM)? Have you tried to monitor with Snoopdos? Last edited by AMIGASYSTEM; 29 April 2021 at 17:51. |

rabidgerry; make sure you've set an RTG display first.
This port, and one or two others by Nova won't start if a standard WB display is set. |

Damiano you don't need an RTG screen AmiDuke works fine even on a PAL Standard screen, and I would say it looks good too.

Yes they are two separate versions one AGA (PAL) and the other RTG
Also the other Duke3d Amiga engine v0.3 works fine ! My two versions of Duke3D (Video test) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AC2...ew?usp=sharing Last edited by AMIGASYSTEM; 29 April 2021 at 23:09. |

This is the one you should be using on winuae http://aminet.net/package/game/shoot/AmiDuke_RTG
I also did this AHI setup guide years ago which you might need, it's for ScummVM but the same applies to any port that uses AHI. [ Show youtube player ] Last edited by NovaCoder; 30 April 2021 at 02:54. |

In the "Tooltype" icon you must disable the parameter "closewb" otherwise Duke will start hidden "behind the screen" which makes you think that the game is not started. |

Installed AHI and used again in WINUAE. Ok so the game loaded and started and allowed me to play. But it's all "stuttery" and unplayable. I dunno if this something to do with my WINUAE setup which is kinda setup close to my actual Amiga setup or not. I will try it on my actual Amiga now and see what happens.
Question, when AHI is installed, does it require specific hardware setup? I don't really understand what it is. Some kind of driver for audio used by certain programs? I'm used to drivers being required for hardware normally and my Amiga setup is not fancy at all, just Amiga and Monitor with basic limited frequency responding onboard speakers. |

In AHI Prefs if you use WinUAE you can choose and save for all UAE units 16Bit WIFI with the maximum frequency
On a real Amiga if you don't have a sound card you have to choose Paula with a frequency supported by your Amiga. Of course if you configure WinUAE like your real Amiga it's normal that it's slow and stuttering, emulate an A4000 040/060 JIT with 256MB of RAM and you'll see the game perfect also in sound. |

Well when I installed using the installer it asked what hardware I had and I selected Paula.
So in order to get this to work in WINUAE I would need to change the preferences? WINUAE is not really that important, as I mentioned earlier I simply use it to test everything usually. So if I can't get it to work I shall just move onto real Amiga. But if I can in WINUAE then that will be good just to test it out. ****edit**** you mean HIFI right not WIFI? |

Ok installed on my actual Amiga and it worked straight away. AHI was already on there. Runs pretty smooth, but the screen size is a little weird, it's about 3/4 size, so the bottom is black, is that normal?
