Just like any other hobby people get bored, have to work too much, family members die or get divorced, etc so they dont show up anymore. Other people come and take their place. How many real friends did you have in school that you still talk to today? I had quite a few friends end up married with no time for anything else, turned to gambling and dont do anything else, moved so far away after school that you just dont communicate anymore, or just dont have anything in common anymore. Why would people on the net be any different?

I guess the board has changed over the last year or so. At least it gives the chance for others to become involved. That's life though isnt it?

I hate that aspect of life, losing contact with good people. I'm sure these peeps will visit the EAB from time to time. I'm taking a sabbatical soon, but I'll always be back. Priorities demand that we devote time to different areas of our lives.

Going off on a tangent here, but following on from the disappearing "friends" comment:

Many, who were once impulsive and exciting in nature, become boring and set in their ways. The struggle I have at organising a trip or event is mind boggling - all they want to do is camp in their house, complain about material things, watch TV and work.

This is life however. 90%+ of people will conform into the society norm and never really do anything exciting. Happens every generation in some countries like clockwork, no matter how hard you try and get people to stay socially active.

We are all slaves! Slaves I tell you!

Still, many of us are VERY lucky slaves, living in some of the best conditions the world has to offer.

Indeed and thanks Fisk.

Dizz and Kombat, you two are fellow off topic veterans, Fred needs you guys!

Isn't that right Fred. Fred. FRED. FRED!!!!

Ok, perhaps he has Dizz. :hoo

This thread reminds me of the EAB OLD TIMERS THREAD

Man, some kids came out of the woodwork in that one. It turned out loads of peeps were simply lurking.

That reminds me, I'll have to get around to joining EMUUK again. I haven't joined since losing all my posts - some classics as well.

Gosh this is turning out to be a depressing thread. Someone cheer Fred up quick. Dizzy, post a happy pic.
