Cadaver - The Payoff

I got this expansion for "Cadaver" running without problems, but the character control is screwed up. If I hold down an arrow key nothing happens, but if I press it once the guy moves a tiny bit forward. So, to move across a room I have to press the key a couple of hundred times.....

I'm running WinUAE 0.8.21 R2 and a normal ECS13 config.

Anyone got a solution or knows of another WinUAE version that works with "The Payoff"?

This is a WinUAE problem!
Problems are accumulating by and by, aren't they...

0.8.21 R2 does indeed fail for me, but try 0.8.17 R2!
This one works fine with Cadaver - The Payoff.
Moreover, the rectangular boxes displaying the 'EXPANDING DATA...' and other stuff are only displayed correctly in the previous version.
The upper edge of the rectangle is displayed in some weird white-ish color...this doesn't happen in 0.8.17.

There seems to be a problem with direction keys in Cadaver - The Payoff (in joystick emulation).

Apparently, this seems to be a fire button / general control timing issue.

Thanx a lot for the info Andreas, but there's more to it than that. I used 0.8.17 R2 for "Cadaver" and that worked without any problems, but when I tried to load "The Payoff" in 0.8.17 R2 I got a checksum error just after the "Press fire to continue" message.
So, I fired up 0.8.21 R2 and the expansion loads just fine, but character movement is weird.

The question is, is it possible to get by this checksum error with another config for 0.8.17 R2 or is there another version of "The Payoff" that works? My copy says "Cadaver - The Pay Off (1991)(Renegade)(M3)(Levels)[expansion disk].adf"

I tried your copy but got exactly the same problem. My amazing mind came to the conclusion that the problem has to be on the Cadaver disk and not on the expansion disk. So, instead of my Genesis-Angels crack I tried the Subway-Spreadpoint crack. Victory!

But..... instead of the "press the key a billion times" problem I got a new one. Now that bloody character is jumping around all the time.....

I'll try some more cracks, and if they all fail I'll try some crack!

BWAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAAA! Victory!

The High Tension crack (and maybe other cracks too) of "Cadaver" works perfectly with "The Payoff" expansion in WinUAE 0.8.17 R2.

Now the screen machine can continue his work!

Does anyone know what is the right combination of TOSEC disks for this baby? At least it won't work on my A500 with the Full Evil -disk 1- crack with a trainer
