Game Similar to Sinistar (but boss was brown and had big holes around the edge)

Described most of it in the title to be honest. You flew around in space and would eventually fight something that looked like a cross between an asteroid and Sinistar, with something like 8 big holes around its edge.

I can picture the damn thing in my head but I can't draw and we've yet to gain the technology to draw from my mind so that's no use.

Any ideas?

No and no unfortunately.

The game came in one of those weird square jewel cases and the front cover was the main boss (round tube-hole guy) but he was green on the cover for some reason.

Any good Sinistar ports on Amiga. Playing it using MAME has no sound.
