Apollo 1230 problem
I somehow managed to broke the eprom chip.
After that, the memory located in the board ( 8 Mb simm) didn't show up. So, it was some kind of memory handler chip ?!? The chip had "window", so I think it was eprom ?! It was located in "socket", so it could be easily changeable, BUT... -Where could I get one ? HEELPP! |

I'm sure someone could dump the rom for you and burn you a new chip.

A-Collector, repairments

Lite does not have EPROM, just a GAL chip
I can do a 27C128, piece of cake, but where to find that dump (and what is worse macce2 is from andromeda galaxy, whoa, long way to ship it) |

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure, but I do think it's not the lite version..it does have a 68030@50 Mhz on it, and a place for scsi module.. and I think it does have fpu and mmu, too.
If needed, I could send a photo and more information later on. Oh, not Andromeda, I'm located in Finland :-D |

Well, I must admit only a few chip pins (feet) broken..
I'm not sure if the chip itself is broke. But I have no soldering skills, and would like to play it for safe.. :-) |

A friend of mine succeeded in soldering the chip (two new feet).
All seemed to be ok and I expected it to work, but- my Apollo doesn't seem to find any ram fitted anymore.. :-/ Is it possible that the chip is somehow lost its data..?! o what could I do ? I'd like to try with a new chip, but where could I find it ? :-O Well, s |

@Rabbit80
Oh, sorry for the "incomplete" link.. But mine is just the Apollo1230 turbo, older version.. not lite or mk2. I think even if my board doesn't have much different look than the standard one, I'll send/upload(?) photos of it, if needed. The chip I'm talking about is some kind of "typical(?!) eprom type chip, the socketed one near the processor chip, as you can see in the photos. (bigbook of amiga hardw) The chip does have a kind of "window" in it.. |
