CDTV boot question

Hi all! I have just got hold of a cdtv. It appears to work fine. However I have noticed that when I power off with the remote while playing some game with the assassin ulitmate disk and then power back on the cdtv just sits there with a grey screen. I have to remove the cd power off then on and reinsert the cd to get it to boot.

Is this normal?

Pretty normal. Power it off with the panel's power switch.

What state is the amiga in when it's powered off from the remote?

Is ram or anything refeshed? Which bits of the motherboard are getting power?

I am trying to figure out why when powering up from the remote certain CDs won't boot.
