Actually I see that is the wrong game. It is based on the Dutch TV show, but it's a PD AMOS games by Copysoft/Cobrar Software Ltd. and is in Spanish. I think the version you seek is the German game by PCSL Software. It seems it's in TOSEC, but only as an overdumped disk.
I don't seem to have an alternate version. Sorry. |

Lingo (German) correct dump Lingo (Dutch) <-is this one also from PCSL or someone else? Boggle (Dutch) Never heard tf that last one...any info on it? I've not run across much in the way of Dutch software, but since my cultural heritage would make me a Dutch-American if I believed in all that label crap, I would be interested in seeing more. |

About Boggle and Lingo
First, Being a Cloggie I have watched Boggle many, many years ago on Dutch television. Pity I don't remember much of it...
The quiz is something like this: two couples play a Scrabble-variant. A square consisting of 6 X 6 letters appear on screen. The object is to achieve a word from the letter mix starting with a random selected letter from the square. The team who score the most words and words consisting of the most letters is the winner. I mainly remember the presenter of the quiz, I think Frank Kramer is his name, who had the charm of a wooden block. Oh well... Second, I honestly don't think either Dutch version of Lingo and Boggle appeared on Amiga. The Amiga was totally neglected in the early nineties in The Netherlands. Already in 1991 people were baffling about how great their EGA 386-PC was. Dutch Softwarepublishers (Davilex, Easydisc) always only focussed on PC. Back in 1995 at the largest annual computer dump fair in Utrecht (the 'HCC-dagen' for insiders) I saw many PC CD-roms of Lingo and Boggle for sale. Looking at the cd-box it stated it was produced in 1994. So PC-versions definitely have appeared. |

I cannot agree with this, because I actually had both of the games in my possession those years. I was just so stupid to sell my whole amiga setup to make place for a nice console. So I know the games must be out there..... I just did some digging and found out that the amiga version was actually from PCSL Software and was released back in 1992. As I didn't know where to cut the 11264 bytes, I just used WinUAE with XCopy and SLOW floppy speed to create an accurate 880k image! No big deal. Disk format is AmigaDOS, so this doesn't hurt. In the zone. |

Tested and works (WinUAE 0.8.22 R5). |

Great , I got it running. But sadly it is not the one I ment. The Dutch version looks much better, And has the original voices and effects of the real show in it. Like "ooooohhh" "aaaahhhh jammer !!"
Well I will keep searching... Thanx anyway this far for all the support, it is great to see there is still an amiga scene after all those years. |

Hi haribootje,
I think there were several versions of Lingo. Courbois software made one too and they made Boggle too if I am correct. But that is not the one you are looking for. The one you might mean is from the Huissense Computer club (if I am correct) wich had sampled voices from Robert ten Brink. If you still do not have it send me a pm and I will see what I can do. I got it at home but I am not there now. I will be again in July but I am sure I can pull some strings to get some other people to send it to me. There are more people that have it, I am sure. |

Yep, it was from the Huissense Computer Club. I already sorted that out in my investigations.. There is a small chance that i will get it within a week from a Dutch girlie. But it's a small chance.
So if you can arrange it it would be very cool. So the publisher in the Tosec MIA list has to be changed from pcsl software into Huissense Computer club !! (Twistin !!?? ;-) ) Last edited by haribootje; 14 May 2003 at 23:52. |
