REV 1d.4 a1200 "odd U7 chip socket"

Hello guys,

My recent Rev 2B mobo developed a problem and i bought a rev1D.

All works well except, the u7 chip (keyboard) has a PLCC socket around it. Which means my SUM 1200 adapter will not fit. Am i correct in asssuming this is not "factory" and it has been refurbed with this mod?

Cheers. The PC 1200 is no good need USB. I may have to invest in hot air gun and brave the trauma of unsoldering the PLCC and then soldering a SM. Scary
