Street Figher 2 AGA Turbo
Gave up searching for the ADF's on the net, I did search for it a lot
Heard a lot a good things about this version and how better it is commpared to the other attemps. I really like very good looking games that use the true AGA capabilities and really wanted to try this version. What about a post to the Zone hey mates I heard the A1200 version had 11 disks and almost no sound. Maybe the CD32 version would be better but does it work well under the Amiga CD32 emulators? |

There was a version that was good, and a version that wasn't.
I think the bad version was maybe 'Turbo' and the other one which apparently played better was just plain old SSF2. I bought the 11 disk version when it came out. After seeing a preview. It looked amazing. Better than any home version I'd seen before. Unfortunately it played terribly. Really, really terribly. The game apparently skipped frames unless you had an accelerator. I had an 030, then an 060. Nothing ever made the game play with all of the frames of the arcade or console versions. It was pretty much unplayable as far as Street Fighter goes. The in game sound effects were awful. The menu speech samples and selections sounds were very crisp and professional. Apparently the CD32 version has CD Audio of the in-game music which sounds great, but the other effects remain the same. I was more than disappointed with this game. I invited a friend over, a fellow SF fan, to play the game when it arrived. I was so embarrassed. It made my Amiga look so shoddy. So we ended up playing the Megadrive version in shame. That said, the other version, whilst being less pretty, supposedly plays a lot better (I never did get a copy). |
