CAPS appearing at Extreme Computing 2002 !
If you are in the UK and can get to London, why not check out the Extreme Computing festival 2002:
http://www.xcom2002.com/index.php CAPS (http://www.caps-project.org) is very likely to be there showing a bit of the technology at our stall and handing out a limited amount of free copies of Abandoned Places 2 + we will probably have some Amiga games to play at the stall if I can lug an Amiga up there. Any suggestions on good games? I thought Skidmarks since I have a 4 player adaptor, and SOTB - can anyone think of any others? Obviously I am limited to what games I have (originals only) - but I do have 500-odd so there should not be too much of a problem. Suggest away! There will be other great retro-gaming people going including developers from the C64 and Speccy era. See the site for more details. Anyway, if you fancy coming along to challenge us at a few games or just want to pop along for a chat then please do! It is on Sunday 9th June and is only £3 entry - be there and be square. Thanks for that.
I don't have KGS - shame - that game would rock - if only for the music... Worms is a very good suggestion... We can have loads of players on that one. I don't think I have the Directors Cut though - what is difference? Any more ideas? We have about 8 hours to kill guys... Also if anyone is planning to go, then let us know! |

@Burseg: What a good suggestion! Sensi must be played wherever there is an Amiga and more than one person. It's the law.
@Fiath: Worms DC is like 'Worms 1.5', basically - A1200 only, AGA gfx, a smattering of new weapons, etc. Good game! My own suggestion: Slamtilt. Fabulous, fast, furry fun. Up to 8 players showing their pinball prowess. Although being keyboard-controlled, a hell of a lot of seat-swapping is required. Same true of Worms, unless it's CD32 Worms, with CD32 pad control. All great games so far! (Although I freely admit to not being all that great at Speedball 2. But I do hold a Masters in Super Skidmarks). |

Cheers guys, okay - going through them:
Bomberman - Cool, I don't have that though, but wasn't there a really good PD version I got use? Speedball 2 - Oh yes! The games you forget about - it's discusting. Sensible Soccer - Yes, I will have to bring along Kick Off 2 too seeing as I expect many people will ask for that... Slamtilt - Yeah, I got this one too - the day would not be complete without pinball I reckon! I also thought of Super Stardust - since it looks so damn sweet! All great suggestions so far! Keep 'em coming! I think Cody will be joining me on the stall - any of you guys thinking of dropping by? ... Any challenges to a game of 'X' will be returned with sweet victory on our part I also thought we hold a competition on one of the games... Not sure what we will be giving out though - maybe CD's of PD games that they asked me to bring. |

I miss out on all the fun. Coulnd't I just swim there? It's not that far. I live on the west coast of Jutland so if you have to be somewhere in denmark you won't get much closer to start from.
Chaos engine would be my suggestion for a game. Maybe Chaos engine 2 if you prefer competitiveness. |

@fiath : instead of Bomberman you can use Masterblaster (DP) the best bomberman clone. If you have an internet connexion you could also try Dynamite !

Very nice Cody, thanks I figured you'd get the hint when I mentioned the Digital Camera
As for the rarity aspect of the titles, the Ultima VI box, this is the European release then? It has a Mindscape sticker on it, I think the N. American version just said Origin Systems and Electronic Arts as I beleive they owned Origin at that point. So this probably means that Mindscape was the distributor for this title overseas then. EDIT: I suppose having the C64 version of Times of Lore doesn't count :hoo |

Is that the original release of Paradroid 90? I heard that is extremely rare! I have a copy but only as part of a compilation (Award winners; with kickoff 2, space ace, populus and of course, paradroid 90) Not as good as yours though

Yes, this the European release, distributed by Mindscape. Ultima 6 is surprisingly rare.

That's the original Paradroid 90 - I got it in an online auction among a load of other games, so not many people must have noticed it.
Paradroid 90 in Award Winners 1? I thought it was Pipe Mania, along with Populous, Kick Off 2 and Space Ace. |
