I have a mobo eith similar problems. If I try to switch it on 20 times in a row I can get it to start, though. Need to recap it.

Either recap it soon or you'll need a new switch for the power supply

:-) I have the caps but I need to practice soldering a bit else the mobo will need additional repairs. My working a600 seems to have had problems with the same caps as the pcb was pretty rotten in that specific area when I had it recapped even though it ran good.

Be careful recapping. Too much heat will lift the solder pads.

@HelloBeautiful

Happy to change the caps on your board if you don't yet feel comfortable doing it

Thanks for the offer. I have a few friends that could do it for me but I'm afraid I'm forming a bit of a habit of asking them to do it for me so I think it's time for me to start doing them myself.
