On WinUAE:
  • sound plays perfectly

What is wrong with this demo?
Disable Fast Ram on real hardware or WinUae for this graphics issues.

Thanks for hint!

Disabling FAST-RAM didn't solve problem in 100%, but...

Real Amiga:
solved sound problem
didn't quite solve graphics errors, but it's now acceptable

WinUAE:
same errors as on real Amiga, but here:
bug 1 (flashing dots): I solved by slightly moving screen vertically and hiding this behind an overlay
bug 2 (flying pixel from left to right): disappeared after setting SUBPIXEL DISPLAY EMULATION

Another cool demo added to my project
Thanks again for your help.

I finally to get a 'supposedly' good version of Duplo - My Mama Is A Vampire (which amilo3438 wrote about here: link)

When loading part 2, a screen like this appears:

Is this file actually corrupted, or is this such a 'funny' ending this demo?
Attached Files
File Type: zip Duplo_MyMamaIsAVampire.zip (1.04 MB, 43 views)

Is it really supposed to work in a real machine?

I've uploaded into the Zone! a version with removed checksum check, try it.

Files AmiClassic posted seem to have the same crc as those from: http://www.arabuusimiehet.com/break/...s.php?id=13773

According to the FAQ from the same site: "Everything you see here is hand checked and verified to be working". (so probably should work on a real thing)

BTW. The files you posted in the zone with removed checksum works fine! (thanks)

Ps.
The .dms version from: http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=3734 does not crash at disk 1 if the CPU cache is disabled with "SHIFT+F12" and "r cacr 0" after the green text starts to appear!
(But stays the same problem when loading the part 2 of the demo!)

Not necessarily
I'm more interested in making it work in WinUAE, because I wanted to add it to my Amiga Demotheque project (based on Hyperspin and WinuAE).

Unfortunately on a real Amiga it also stop loading Part 2.

Your fixed version works perfectly on WinUAE (Quick A1200)

I checked WinUAE config A1200 + Fast RAM - music in Part 2 plays weird (on real Amiga with FAST music also plays strangely, without FAST message 'Out Of Memory' appears)

Thank you so much for this fix

Checksum error also occurs on stock A1200, fixed version let's me reach the end. On 060 it crashes in the "fractal zoomer" part.

Warning: the published file appears to contain a virus.

If it is started from disk it does not create problems, but if started from WB it infects the C:LoadWB file.

Crap, around that time (trying the demo) I had issues with LoadWB crashing during startup, so I copied it from the WB installation disk. Luckily it seems like the virus is not 060 compatible, but it did ruin my no-virus streak (had a bad case of the SADDAM virus back in my youth...).
Even seems to be somewhat known: https://vht-dk.dk/amiga/desc/txt/commanderdrop.htm. FWIW VirusZ III finds the virus on the disk, but turned up nothing when I scanned my amiga HD.
Thanks for the heads up.

For some (lucky?) reason the patched ADF version I uploaded to the zone seems to not spread the virus.
I did a basic installation of WB, launched the demo and LoadWB was still healthy on exit, while with the "original" version LoadWB was infected.
In any case, for safety, I deleted it.

No idea why, I've not checked the code (and I'm not going to do it )
Maybe skipping the check code I also casually skipped the virus writing code?
Or used a different version of the demo? Unfortunately I don't remember what I did, it was a very quick patch.

Hi,

The crash of TEK-Rampage (OCS demo) with Quickstart 1200 since WinUae 4.9.0 is it normal (or even related to the CPU) ? I remember an explanation was given but I can't find it.

Note : no need to answer if it's a CPU issue.

And thank you very much for the improvements since 4.9.0.

It works fine running directly, without Workbench. It seems that it is fault of your system (maybe some patch?), not WinUAE.
I checked on WinUAE 2.8.1 and 4.4.0.

Try using WHDLoad version, works well (A1200, 3.1, 030).

Tried re-newing WHDLoad install. Quits after intro giving "Coprocessor violation.." I don't have an fpu on the card in the A1200 atm so I'm s'possing an fpu is needed for it.

I think this isn't on topic. Check the first post.

Bootable disk based AGA demos that don't need accelerators that have problems in emulation.
