TF1260 and ClassicWB compatibility issues
Hi guys, I have been trying to get my TF1260 to work, I have ClassicWB installed on the internal CF, prior to the TF1260 I had an ACA1221lc. When I installed the TF1260 (I had also installed the MMU libraries) the Amiga kind of boots up, I get the rainbow screen, then the Amiga looks like it is booting but it takes a very long time which lots of HD access. It looks like it will start to load Workbench but then the power light flashes and I get a GuruMeditation. I imagine this must be a problem with ClassicWB but I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and how they fixed it.

You would have to set echo on at the top of the startup-sequence to see where the boot process stops.

Which Kickstart ROMs do you have? Is it 3.0 by any chance?

i run my TF1260 with Classic WB, and it runs just fine. No errors at all, i got the same kinda thing you have, but after I installed MMULibs, and copied the 060 library from the install folder to my libs folder, it was golden.
What KS are you using? it could be a memory auto config thing, if you have it installed correctly that is, do people still have KS 3.0?. |

Well this is embarrassing, I had installed the MMU package but it looks like I had forgot to copy the 060 library. I did that with my original card and now I am able to boot into my original ClassicWB install again with the TF. Such a silly thing I should have realised

Hehe yes it is a bit embarrassing I had forgotten something so simple but I am glad that it is working now. I have another question though, I want to use the CF Rescue disk ADF (https://www.retro-commodore.eu/cf-re...for-a600a1200/) to copy some files from my CF since when I use the disk image that came with the card the CF slot seems to freeze up the Amiga. Is there a way to add the 060 library and MMU files to the CF Rescue card ADF? Would it be possible to edit the ADF file in a Gotek on a real Amiga?

Probably won't fit, but wouldn't you rather just set up your running system to have compactflash.device and a dosdriver for it, which you can then mount when you want to look at CF cards?
Booting from a floppy every time is slow and tedious. |
