Amiga 600 keyboard - how to remove keys?
I just got an Amiga 600 that has yellow keys and want to fix it!
What is the best way to remove each key? I don't want to break anything when I try to pop them off!!?!?! Thank you! |

I cleaned my A1200 keys once and used a normal flat head screw driver to remove them. Just stuck it in between the keys and pried gently. Once you get the hang of it they will all pop off in a matter of minutes!
They came off easily and not much force was used. I remember the larger keys (space, return and so on) were a bit more tricky. I googled for "keyboard key removal tool" just now. A plastic tool like that might help. Never used it! |

A relatively safe way is to use two screwdrivers at the same time, one on each side of the key. That way you won't tilt the key and risk breaking the stem. Make the 'lever' as long as possible, again to avoid tilting the key to any side.
