Well, I know what the song is (Georgie Red - Help The Man), but what I'm trying to find is the Amiga Demo that it came from.

Long story short, is it the same song as in my sample? If so, how can I load it?

I found the demo in a different ADF pack: http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=83515

Thank you!

Its the same demo, NEF #1, just the demos a standalone exe and its also on teh alcatraz packdisk. Because a lot of demos are small, people used to put multiples on disks and call them packdisks, just to save disks really. People did it with games as well, as long as its dos and small you could usually put a couple on a disk.We did it a few times back in the day.

Too bad I saw this request a bit too late, good to see you found it out eventually (and it made for a good story, too).

You can find more samples and loans used in Amiga games and demos in this thread I started a few years ago.

Cool! Let me know if you can find the Savage demo in question. Cheers.

Visually it's identical to this Savage Surprise intro listed in Janeway.

The version listed there uses Romeo Knight's music in Noisetracker format instead of a sample (without crediting him), so if you recall this particular Savage intro featuring the Georgie Red sample, my guess is that it was released earlier with that sample – which is the version you saw – and released later with the module soundtrack. Or possibly the other way around.

This being a 1989-1990 intro, it's possible the team extracted the sample out of commercial game called Jinks, released some two years earlier.

Yep, I've added jinks as an update (and quite a revelation!) in the video description. Thanks!

I should've been clearer when showing the visuals from the surprise demo - I do pop up a title card explaining that I am only showing that demo for illustrative purposes because I cannot find the original demo. To clarify, the sample was never in the surprise demo.

Starglider 2,

Good detective work, video with the usual deadpan touch, top notch.

BTW:

I can recommend these two videos about Amiga samplers:
