Mutation CD32 Digital .ISO releases...
As I'm now currently working on CD32 releases after fixing a bug with the loader(s), I have started a new thread here. It combines the forthcoming CD32 release of Wiz and the 23year old remaster of the Mutation Gold Compilation for CD32. We'll be releasing these sometime next week or soon after in Digital .ISO form.
Basically you can burn your own CD32 CDROM (we used TDK MiniCDR at 4x burn here which look really cute actually) and the 12mm CD front cover artwork is also supplied with the .ISO image. Wiz has of course got extra CD32 button support as standard. Only 2 games on the Mutation Gold Compilation have full CD32 button support and those are Doodlebug and Cyberpunks. I do not have source for 2 of the 3 remaining games so cannot add extra CD32 button support for those of course so please do not ask These are currently both being fully tested now on real CD32's and the Mutation Gold Compilation has been fully remastered and modified with all files being replaced compared to the 23 year old original - complete with updated custom boot menu too. These releases are intended for the hardcore collectors amongst you or those that just want CD32 releases. We'll then move onto the Big Glossy Box release of Wiz soon (50 copies only) and then finally back onto Cyberpunks 2 - The Next Generation into 2021 ...as you can tell it's been very busy here but it is time to put a lid on the CD32 can of worms once and for all. Wiz will be priced at US$9.99 and the Mutation Gold Compilation at US$14.99 Thanks for looking Adrian Last edited by Adrian Cummings; 14 November 2020 at 16:01. |

WinUAE appears to hate RNC dosio code used for the loader in my games. It used to work years ago I recall but it no longer does?
You can run ADF's via DF0: in WinUAE using RNC dosio tho but not anything from HD(whatever): or CD0: any longer. Just black screens in WinUAE. The .ISO's I have here load fine on real CD32 now but the same .ISO's when loaded via WinUAE do nowt. Hence why I stated the above. Last edited by Adrian Cummings; 14 November 2020 at 13:25. |

Weird.
I would have thought using a Quickstart CD32 and mounting the .ISO image would work fine on WinUAE. |

Very. It will not work in WinUAE via a mounted .ISO no. Something has changed in WinUAE years ago because it all did used work with dosio via HD at least I know that much.

[Update] Nope after further CD32 testing on WinUAE emulator, by using the CD32 quickstart tab and loading the .ISO image in from there then all the new builds of each CD work fine ...so YAY then

Good news
This also benefits you, as now people who emulate will possibly also purchase this CD-ROM. |

so I think my CD32 TF330 Classic workbench hate your RNC dosio code, but so great idea to do on mini CDR ! more practical and remember me the demo I had for the mega-cd, I still can read CD with my extension card, so thankfully you do a CD32 version, GOD bless you , can't wait !

Almost finished testing these my end and just a bit more external testing to do before we can make the Digital .ISO's ready for download for the Mutation Gold Compilation and Wiz.
100% Confirmed all working on real CD32 and WinUAE emulator via CD32 Quickstart tab now. I imagine these particular releases will be out this coming week but I will announce them here also OK. Thanks, Adrian |

Those two CD32 releases are live now via here www.MutationSoftware.uk
If you have an accelerated CD32 with TF030 you will need to pay attention to the terms of sales notice thus: Note: This CD32 .ISO was developed and intended for stock Amiga CD32 (i.e. 020 CPU/2Mb Chip RAM). You may notice occasional slowdown on anything higher spec. than this if your CD32 is expanded due to the age old 'blitter wait problem'. This is true. I couldn't work out why my disk version of Wiz was slowing down, until I disabled my fast ram. Then, boom! Perfect.

Surely it's not Fast RAM being enabled that causes "the age old blitter wait problem".
It's the processor / accelerator. |

Yes it's the cpu vs blitter contention with faster >020 cpu's. It's a pain in the ass in reality and wish Commodore had upgraded the blitter when they designed the AGA systems - but they didn't :P

Hi. When you code this for the CD32, do you use the lowlevel.library to read they joypad and set up the interrupts or do you hit the hardware directly?
The demo is great. Thanks. |

Thanks. They all hit the hardware directly and take over the system. The disk code in all versions uses RNC dosio code.

Sorry for the delay in answering. The ISO's are best burned at 2x or 4x on good CDR I've found for CD32. Anything else can be problematic IMHO.
I use Verbatim CDR personally. |
