Kickstart 3.1.4 purchase question
If I buy OS 3.1.4 and the physical kickstart from amigastore.eu do I also get a digital kickstart for emulation to play with while waiting for the postman?
If not, is there a way to rip the rom on my genuine amiga once it's installed, or is that breaking a licence agreement? Thanks |

You should get a serial number with the ROM. After you registered that at hyperion-entertainment.com you get access to the download version which also includes a ROM image.
So no, you cannot do it while you are waiting, but once you got the product, you'll be able to download it. And yes, you can as well rip the ROM from your Amiga once you've installed it. Just like any other ROM. Using the same ROM on two machines is probably breaking the license, though. Just like with any other ROM. |

when you register Amiga OS 3.1.4 at Hyperion you have to agree the Conditions, which says that emulation ist not allowed
just for the records! |

Isn't that technically emulating the kickstart chip in RAM? haha this is hilarious that they specifically state it's not for emulation. They'd probably sell more if they market it as such. CloanTo sell kickstart roms for emulation so maybe it's a licencing thing?
Hmmm so do I support them with my money, but then risk losing support by using it for emulation even if I specifically bought two kickstarts for the purpose (one for real hardware, one for emulation). |

Do what you want with YOUR legitimate kickstart, just don't let the others know about it. Simple
