Blizzard 603e/603e+ Install problems

Righto chaps, so of you have this hardware or equivalent installed already and I need some new ideas as to why this load of junk doesn't work.

Board and BVision card have power, including from Floppy. Fan spins up, hard drives spin up, but then nothing happens. No Kickstart screen, no attempt to load anything.

16mb installed which I know works because it was on my o6o card.

If I pull the card out, the Amiga boots up fine. I am at a loss as to what the hell the problem is. Idea's?

Mine only worked if I had it connected to a PC VGA monitor and even then it was hit-and-miss if it worked or not.

I doubt if that was actually the problem though, I didn't bother delving into it as PPC cards suck anyway

Make sure it stuffed right in, and he BVision card is properly connected. (Yeah I know, but these things need to be checked no matter who your talking to

)

Galahad,

Have you tried putting the machine together bit by bit?

Disconnect everything, then start by first installing only the PPC card (including RAM), see if it starts. Then perhaps add a hard drive and see where that gets you..

Have you tried different SIMMs?

Is this a P5 or DCE built PPC?

Try without BVision first, if it is a DCE-card.
It could have a newer Version of FlashROM for G-Rex-support.
BVision will not work with it!
